A Brief History of Landmark

Laying a Solid Foundation 

             In 1978, newly licensed Sally Koss entered the Massachusetts Real Estate World filled with wide-eyed ambition for her career. Although she hoped, Sally never truly knew what kind of an impact she could make.

            With a  background in advertising, Sally's passion for marketing led her to a fiercely disciplined career as a REALTOR, but her knowledge of the industry and her gift of motivating and pleasing those around her left her combined with an intense need to give back to the industry she was already so passionate about. Sally wanted to lead people to their personal success.

            RE/MAX Landmark, REALTORS was Sally Koss' vehicle towards that dream. In 1985, along with her husband Stephen J. Koss, the doors of the first Landmark office where opened in Stoughton, Massachusetts. The Landmark Brand of RE/MAX had laid a solid foundation.

 Building on the Dream 
            The success of every real estate office is the result soley of the expertise and caliber of its sales associates. The mission was then, as it is today, to provide the highest standard of real estate service available to the consumer while creating a unique and outstanding atmosphere for our associates. Surronding ourselves only with the most respected professionals in the industry, RE/MAX Landmark, REALTORS began to grow.

            Forced by a growing need, a second office was opened in Sharon, Massachusetts in the early Spring of 1991. A third location was soon to follow in Taunton. The doors there officially opened on  March 1st, 1994, and another later in the beautiful Boston suburb of Milton.

            Knowing that success can often be difficult to build from the ground up, we began to purchase the franchise rights of some already extraordinary firms. RE/MAX Bayside brought the Landmark Brand to the Dorchester area of Boston Proper in June of 2002. Soon after, RE/MAX Alliance joined the growing family in late 2004 bringing with it a rich tradition of serving the thriving comminity of Westwood, Massachusetts. Giants standing on the sholders of giants, was our unconscious design for the Landmark Growth. 

 Discovering a Landmark 
           When you are as passionate about service and quality as Steve and Sally Koss, along with their dedicated staff and amazingly devoted and successful sales associates, your drive and ambition can often cloud the "big picture" of what you have accomplished. In late 2006 and earlier 2007 astronomical growth brought that picture into focus.

            In August of 2006 RE/MAX Carriage Way brought with it two fabulously established offices in Wayland and Wellesley, Massachusetts. The veteran agents of these locations shared with us a well cultivated niche providing service to Luxury Buyers and Sellers. Our growth and change increasing with every happy family purchasing the keys to their future.

            A company rich with its own history,  RE/MAX Walden Country became the most recent addition to RE/MAX Landmark, REALTORS in late January of 2007. Established in 1991 in Concord center, RE/MAX Walden Country experience growth much the same way as we, at RE/MAX Landmark, had. Expanding from one office to five over the span of eleven years. Founders, Doug and Helen Edwards, came to join their business with ours. And, without a doubt, we truly had a Landmark Network on our hands.

            Before a restful breath could be breathed, RE/MAX Landmark, REALTORS had grown from two associates in one office to nearly 200 based in thirteen locations. RE/MAX Landmark agents average 13 years of experience serving areas stretching from Leominster, Massachusetts to Newport, Rhode Island and as far west as Worcester. Partnering with highly skilled and full service industry counter parts, RE/MAX Landmark, REALTORS is the "One-Stop Shopping" of real estate. With in-house mortgage brokers from the highly successful Mortgage Master, Inc. and premium service from our in-house attorneys of Percy, Tedeschi, and Associates, P.C. From start to finish, the transaction process overseen by RE/MAX Landmark assure the highest level of quality and service. Sally Koss' wide-eyed dream for her career became a Landmark in the Massachusetts Real Estate Industry.
